General questions

What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring any relevant medical records, imaging results (X-rays, MRI scans, etc.), a list of current medications, and your insurance information if applicable. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated.
How long is each physiotherapy session?
Initial assessments typically last 60 minutes, while follow-up treatment sessions are usually 45 minutes. We believe in providing adequate time to thoroughly assess and treat each patient without rushing.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No referral is necessary for self-paying patients. However, if you're using private health insurance, some providers may require a GP referral. Please check with your insurance company beforehand.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on your condition, severity, and individual response to treatment. During your initial assessment, your physiotherapist will discuss a personalized treatment plan and provide an estimated number of sessions. Most patients see improvement within 4-6 sessions.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we work with most major private health insurance providers including Bupa, AXA PPP, Aviva, Vitality Health, and others. We can submit claims directly to your insurer or provide detailed receipts for you to claim reimbursement.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
We understand that circumstances change. Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a cancellation fee.
Is physiotherapy painful?
While some discomfort during treatment is normal, especially when working on injured or tight areas, physiotherapy should not be excessively painful. Our therapists will work within your comfort level and adjust techniques as needed. Communication is key—always let your therapist know if something is too uncomfortable.
Can I exercise between sessions?
Yes! In fact, we encourage it. Your physiotherapist will provide you with a personalized home exercise program designed to complement your in-clinic treatment. Consistent practice of these exercises is crucial for optimal recovery and long-term results.
What's the difference between a physiotherapist and a chiropractor?
While both professions focus on musculoskeletal health, physiotherapists use a broader range of treatment techniques including exercise therapy, manual therapy, education, and electrotherapy. We take a holistic approach, focusing on movement, function, and empowering patients through active rehabilitation.
Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?
Yes! We understand that work and life commitments can make daytime appointments challenging. We offer early morning appointments from 8am, evening appointments until 7pm on weekdays, and Saturday morning appointments at most locations.
